Shark Attacks Surfer on Live TV

The World Surf League has issued the following statement:

"We are incredibly grateful that no one was seriously injured today. Mick’s composure and quick acting in the face of a terrifying situation was nothing short of heroic and the rapid response of our Water Safety personnel was commendable — they are truly world class at what they do.

The safety of our athletes is a priority for the WSL and, after discussions with both Finalists, we have decided to cancel the remainder of competition at the J-Bay Open. We appreciate the ongoing support we have in South Africa and once again want to express our gratitude to the Water Safety Team.”

The Bieber / Tremini Shark Attack Hoax...

No, Justin Bieber and Joe Tremani were not attacked by a Reef Shark.

Bieber / Tremeni Reef Shark Hoax Injury

The injuries in the image that's circulating with comments about being bitten by a shark look a lot more like a fall injury and scrape consistent with falling off of a boat or a dock or even a high impact crash during a water sport...

Just in time for Shark Week.

Ugh...

These injuries even look more like some other guy's recent run-in with some barbed wire.

Time to go back to "Shark Academy" with Jonathon Bird
